Escape the winter blues at the 3rd Annual Wine on the Lake taking place on Saturday, February 23, 2008 with two sessions...2-4:30PM and 6-9PM at the Avalon Hotel in downtown Erie. You can sample wines from regional wineries, compliment those with an assortment of foods, live entertainment and unique gifts from local vendors...all in one location. "This is the wineries' slowest time (of the year) as well. What we are able to do is bring everybody together. The wineries benefit, the local businesses benefit. It is a great social and economical event," Douglas V. Beers, Director of Sales WSEE. Attendees will receive a welcome bag that includes a taster's guide, with a list of participating wineries, along with information and coupons from participating vendors. The Erie Federal Credit Union will supply a complimentary wine glass for each ticket holder to use as you sample your favorite wines, yours to take home as a souvenir of the event. For added convenience, pick-up checks are also available so guests can purchase the wine and pick it up when they are ready to leave. Chef William Cornelius will be doing cooking demonstrations and passing out samples of the dishes he makes. There will also be tasty treats from some of your favorite Erie vendors.
